Our Story: Born in Hawaii, Made in Seattle

Our roots run deep into the rich, volcanic soil of Oahu, Hawaii, where founder Sean Lee spent his childhood. That early connection to the islands sparked a lifelong appreciation for the unmatched complexity, smoothness, and distinct flavor profiles of Hawaiian coffee.

When it came time to name the company, Sean looked to his grandmother, whom the family affectionately called "Nana"—the Japanese word for Seven. She instilled the core values of hard work, kindness, generosity, and community that define our business today. In 2006, Sean brought that island inspiration to the Pacific Northwest, opening our first micro-roastery and cafe in Seattle’s Greenwood neighborhood. Quickly earning a reputation as "The Small Roaster for Small Businesses," we grew organically by serving local coffee shops, markets, and a community of loyal, discerning coffee lovers.
