beehiiv was born in 2021, created by early employees of Morning Brew. Having witnessed firsthand the immense power and influence of a large, highly engaged audience, we also knew the reality: getting there was incredibly difficult. It took years of trial and error, the necessity of building custom internal software, and relentless hustle.

We recognized that there are too many talented, creative people in the world for sharing ideas to be so difficult. Gatekeepers and restrictive algorithms have historically preserved power for the few rather than the many. We started beehiiv to change that landscape entirely.
